    호숫가 보랏빛 미소 ‘부처꽃’

   아침 이슬 머금은 호숫가 길섶
   치솟은 초록 줄기마다
   알알이 타오르는 보랏빛 염원

   먼 옛날 장마철 거친 물줄기에
   연꽃마저 몸을 숨겼던 날

   부처님 제단에 지극한 마음 하나 올릴 길 없어
   발 구르던 이의 간절함을 채워준 꽃

   화려한 연못의 왕관은 없어도
   거친 진흙 속  물가에 뿌리를 내리고

   스스로 낮추어 피어난 자비의 얼굴

   너는 가장 낮은 곳에서
   상처 난 중생의 마음을 씻어주는
   보랏빛 자비의 화신이리라.

      The Lythrum’s Violet Smile by the Lake

   Upon the lakeside path drenched in morning dew
   Along each soaring emerald stem
   Violet aspirations ignite grain by grain

   In days of old amidst the monsoon's raging torrents
   When even the lotus hid its countenance

   A soul stamped their feet in sheer despair
   Finding no path to proffer a devoted heart upon the Buddha's altar
   Yet you arose fulfilling that profound yearning

   Though devoid of the crown that graces splendid ponds
   You take root by the waters in the rugged mire
   The very face of benevolence blooming in self-abasement

   From the lowest depths of existence
   You wash away the wounds of sentient beings
   An incarnation of violet mercy.

  湖畔の紫の微笑み「みそはぎ」

   朝露を宿した湖畔の道端
   伸びゆく緑の茎ごとに
   一粒一粒燃え上がる紫の念願

   遥か昔梅雨の激しい激流に
   蓮の花さえその身を隠した日

   御仏の祭壇に捧げる至誠の心その一筋の術もなく
   地団駄を踏んでいた者の切なる願いを満たした花

   華やかな池の王冠はなくとも
   荒れた泥土のその水辺に根を下ろし
   自らを低くして咲き誇る慈悲の面影

   汝は最も低き場所にて
   傷ついた衆生の心を洗い流す
   紫なる慈悲의 化身ならん。
