남해 용문사에서

푸른 바다 아득히 품에 안고
치달아 올라앉은 호구산 자락
오래전 하룻밤 머물다 간
그 기억의 툇마루에 다시 섭니다
고즈넉한 대웅전 추녀 끝으로
시리도록 푸른 하늘이 걸려 있고
세월의 가벼운 바람 한 점이
단청 밑 풍경을 흔들고 지나갑니다
지친 걸음 잠시 내려놓으라
나그네를 붙잡는 무인찻집
창가에 앉아 잔 가득 향을 채우며
타오르는 이마의 땀을 식힙니다
적막의 품에 온기가 피어나는 곳
길손의 고단함을 미리 헤아려
묵묵히 자리를 내어준 고마운 손길에
마음 깊이 나직한 절을 올립니다
향기로운 커피 한 잔에 깃든
따스한 배려를 마음에 담고
바다를 닮은 푸른 미소로
다시 나그네의 길을 떠납니다.
* 남해 용문사는 서기 663년 원효대사가 창건한 절입니다.

At Yongmunsa Temple in Namhae

Embracing the deep blue sea from afar
Sits Mt Hogusan reaching high
Where I once stayed for a single night long ago
I stand again upon the veranda of that memory
By the eaves of the serene Main Buddha Hall
A piercingly blue sky is hung
And a stroke of time’s gentle wind
Shakes the windchimes beneath the dancheong before passing by
Telling me to lay down my weary steps for a while
The unattended teahouse catches the traveler
Sitting by the window filling the cup with aroma
I cool the sweat upon my burning brow
A place where warmth blossoms in the embrace of solitude
Fathoming the traveler’s weariness in advance
To the grateful hands that silently offered a seat
I bow low from the depths of my heart
Harboring the warm kindness embedded
In a cup of fragrant coffee
With a blue smile resembling the sea
I set out again on the traveler’s path.
*Yongmunsa Temple in Namhae, embracing the blue sea, is a historic temple founded by the Great Monk Wonhyo in 663 AD.
This healing sanctuary beautifully blends the scenic ocean views of Namhae with the serene nature of Hogusan Mountain. It is a patriotic temple deeply imbued with the spirits of the Buddhist monk army who fought to save the country during the Imjin War (the Japanese invasion of Korea, 1592). It also boasts the exquisite late-Joseon architectural beauty of its Daeungjeon Hall, which is designated as a National Treasure. 南海 龍門寺にて

青い海を遥かに抱きしめて
そびえ立つ虎丘山のふもと
遠い昔に一夜を明かした
あの記憶の縁側に再び立ちます
ひっそりとした大雄殿の軒先に
染みるほど青い空が掛かっており
歳月の軽やかな一陣の風が
丹青の下の風鈴を揺らして吹き抜けます
疲れた歩みをしばし下ろしなさいと
旅人を引き留める無人茶屋
窓辺に座り杯いっぱいに香りを満たしながら
燃える額の汗を引かせます
寂静の懐に温もりが咲き誇る場所
旅人の疲れをあらかじめ思いやり
黙って席を譲ってくれたありがたい手向けに
心の奥底から静かに一礼を捧げます
香り高いコーヒー一杯に込められた
温かな配慮を心に刻み
海に似た青い微笑みを浮かべて
再び旅人の路へ向かいます。
青い海を抱く南海（ナメ）の龍門寺（ヨンムンサ）は、西暦663年に元暁（ウォニョ）大師によって創健された寺院です。
ここは南海の秀麗な海の景色と、虎丘山（ホグサン）の閑静な自然が調和した場所です。文禄・慶長の役（日本の侵略、1592年）の際、国を救うために戦った僧兵たちの魂が宿る護国寺院であり、宝物に指定された大雄殿（本堂）の美しい朝鮮時代後期の建築美を誇ります。また、忙しい日常を離れて真の休息をとり、韓国の伝統的な仏教文化を深く体験できるテンプルステイを提供するヒーリングの名所です。
