한산 이씨는 충남 예산에서 태어나 열여덟 살에 사대부 유명천에게 시집가 서른두 살에 정경부인의 자리에 올랐다. 1719년에 자신의 회갑을 맞아 탄생부터 회갑까지의 삶을 한글로 기록한 《한산이씨고행록》을 펴냈다.
숙종 시대 높은 벼슬에 올랐으나 정치적 환국에 휘말린 남편을 따라 유배지를 떠돌며 험난한 삶을 살았던 일들을 자세하게 풀어썼다. 세 번이나 자식을 잃고 양자를 들였던 일, 시어머니와 남편을 차례로 떠나보내고 집안을 지켜냈던 일 등을 시간에 따라 기록했다. 유배와 관련된 정치적 사건은 언급하지 않고 자신을 둘러싼 집안일만 서술했으나 당대 남인 사대부가의 운명을 생생하게 읽을 수 있는 귀한 자료로 평가받는다.

A woman of the Hansan Lee clan born in Yesan, Chungcheongnamdo, married the renowned scholar Yi Myeong-cheon at the age of eighteen and became the wife of a high-ranking official at the age of thirty-two. In 1719, on the occasion of her 60th birthday, she published a memoir titled Hansan Issi Gohaengnok (The Hansan Lee Family Record), documenting her life from birth to her 60th year in Hangeul.
Although she had held high government positions during the reign of King Sukjong, she led a difficult life, following her politically exiled husband to various places of banishment. The memoir details her experiences, including the loss of three children, the adoption of a child, and the death of her mother-in-law and husband, all while she managed to preserve her family. Though the memoir does not mention political events related to her exile, it is regarded as a valuable source for understanding the fate of a South Gyeongsang aristocratic family during that period.

韓山（ハンサン）李（イ）氏は忠清南道（チュンチョンナムド）の礼山（イェサン）で生まれ、18歳で士大夫（サデブ）の柳命天（ユ・ミョンチョン）に嫁ぎ、32歳で貞敬夫人（チョンギョンブイン）の地位に就いた。1719年に自身の還暦を迎え、誕生から還暦までの生涯をハングルで記録した『韓山李氏苦行録』を著した。
粛宗（スクチョン）時代に高い官職に就いたものの、政治的な換局（ファングク：政変）に巻き込まれた夫に従い、流刑地を転々としながら過酷な人生を歩んだ出来事を詳細に解き明かしている。3度も我が子を失い養子を迎えたこと、姑と夫を相次いで見送りながら家を守り抜いたことなどが、時系列に沿って記録されている。流刑に関する政治的な事件には触れず、自身を取り巻く家庭内の事柄のみを記述しているが、当時の南人（ナミン）士大夫家の運命を生々しく読み取ることができる貴重な史料として評価されている。
